Really friendly staff, great response and efficient take about 15 min to find out about the problem. Now when it comes to the bill expect to be charge for something you didn’t order plus extra charges out of nowhere. Call in is supposed to pay for one hr service plus basic accessories. Then we been charge an extra hr for electrician plus an hr to train an apprentice plus accessories plus gst on top of all the extra charges... I have tried to contact by email a couple of times, I mean a bit of transparency in your pricing will go a long way

Our fridge self-destructed on Anzac weekend at night during lockdown (of course it did...), tripping our wiring and creating an unnerving burning smell through the house. Beyond EXCELLENT service. We experienced a fault just at the start of a long weekend (Waitangi) We called through to some of the 24/7 emergency electricians advertised, but none of them would come as they were closed for the long weekend. So much for 24/7. Grammar Electrical were not advertised as an emergency call out, but we had to try. WOW!! So glad we did. They came out to our house within an hour, fixed the problem once it was found and had our power up and running real quick. Not only were they a life saver they also had great pricing. Don't waste your time on this business. Had a positive experience getting the quote done, prompt and efficient. From there an absolute waste of time and incredibly unreliable. On the first date scheduled to have the work done, called less than an hour before they were due to cancel. First annual leave day taken to be at home for them to do the work wasted. Second date scheduled, another last minute phone call to cancel. Second annual leave day wasted. Third date scheduled (today) they just didn't show up. They were due at 7.30am but I didn't receive a call until after 3pm. I didn't answer because I am so fed up with this. Received an email to explain they received an urgent call out this morning. Third annual leave day wasted. This is all despite me telling them I had already had two cancellations and requesting a reliable technician be booked. I've told them we will be going elsewhere. They didn't seem bothered. Really shocking customer service, so beware booking their services.

It was a friendly technician who came, but the admin side was really horrible! They over-charged me on the invoice. I called the office lady who treated me in a condescending and outright aggressive way, although she had to admit that an error was made. In general terms, they certainly are on the expensive side ($221.34 for replacing a light bulb socket), which would have been fine, but the arrogant way in which they initially dismissed my friendly query, definitely put me off. Never again Grammar Electrical!

I just LOVE Grammar Electrical, and have done ever since meeting John when he oversaw the electrical work on the home renovation I was doing 15 years ago. Everyone at Grammar is so clued up about what they're doing, incredibly personable, their communications and booking systems work, they are masterful at the technical side of what they do, are outstanding problem solvers, and understand aesthetics. Every single aspect is quality but the piece that is the cream on the top for me is the people. Because of how they naturally are, they grow relationships not just business, and that is why I go back to them time and time again. They are part of my home team! Rob has done the most recent work for me, I hadn't met him before, and he has been just as fabulous to work with as everyone else - both back in the office and out on site. Apart from being ridiculously overpriced, communication with this company has been an absolute lemon. Called up to get a quote, they booked it in as a job. Fair enough, misunderstandings happen. 3 Weeks later, they slap me with a $7k quote (for installing 10 outlets) which I declined since someone else got the job done for less than 3x that. They have since been trying to bill me $420 for the initial quote (this is for no work done, electricians were here for less than 20mins). I've given up trying to call, email and explain the situation with these guys as they seem to either blatantly ignore what I have to say or just don't bother passing the message along between each person I speak to. Highly recommend staying away.
